Zelensky appreciated Merkel's contribution to the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky praised the personal contribution of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. The Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andrey Melnik, said this in a commentary to Spiegel.

“President Zelensky highly appreciates the chancellor’s enormous personal contribution,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Zelensky in a telephone conversation with US leader Donald Trump complained about Germany because the Federal Republic of Germany “does not comply with sanctions” against Russia.

September 24 Zelensky met with Merkel on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The parties discussed the preparations for the meeting of leaders of the "Norman Four" countries to agree on "further steps to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine."
