Bader bin Saud bin Hareb Al Busaidi, minister in charge of defense affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, held talks today with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.

During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Defense, they reviewed the existing brotherly relations and discussed areas of cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries and ways of enhancing them.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Qatari armed forces and the Sultan's armed forces.

It is noteworthy that the meeting between Qatari and Omani officials comes in the context of significant tension known by the region because of US sanctions and pressure on Tehran to force it to negotiate a new agreement on its nuclear program, and Iranian threats to strike US interests in the region if Washington to take any military action against Tehran.
