Yesterday, German media published parts of the sneaky recorded video from Ibiza.

In the clip, which is recorded for the 2017 parliamentary elections, Strache discusses investments with a woman who claims to be related to a Russian oligarch. In the film, they talk, among other things, about how the woman could take control of the evening newspaper Krone, which would help Strache win the 2017 election.

In the film clip Strache is also said to say: "With this magazine you are among the ten most powerful in Austria" and "Journalists are in any case the biggest whores on the planet".

A "political assault"

Heinz-Christian Strache has since apologized and at a press conference on Saturday he announced his departure. He blamed his statements for drinking, but also called the incident a "political assault".

It is still unclear who or who set up the hidden cameras in the villa and recorded Heinz-Christian Strache.
