An official source at the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) said that it has studied the cases of citizens included in the decision to exempt from repayment of housing loans, through the electronic link between the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority and the relevant government departments, through the use of the identity card of each citizen.

It was decided yesterday to exempt 211 citizens from the repayment of housing loans in Abu Dhabi, a total value of 208 million dirhams, in order to provide a decent life and achieve family stability for citizens, in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The source said: "We examined each case individually after identifying the reality of their financial situation and solvency, and then issued a decision to exempt the beneficiaries already, and all of them are required to go to the banks concerned with their loans, to settle their situation, without the need for any documents, documents or social research or what He stressed that the exemption decision is in line with the wise leadership's approach to follow up the conditions of citizens and to identify their needs, and alleviate the social burdens on citizens, especially low-income families, in order to provide a decent life and achieve family stability for citizens.

The source pointed out that there are three categories of beneficiaries who are exempt from repayment of housing loans: the first, retired citizens, those with limited income (whose pensions are less than AED 20,000), or the insolvents who have proven financial insolvency, and unable to pay the dues, and the second. In order to alleviate the suffering of the families of the deceased, applications are made by the dependents of the deceased, to study their financial solvency, and to exempt those who deserve them.

He explained that the third and final category of exemption, called "social exemption", means a citizen who is incapable of earning, or who has a medical disability that prevents him from working, provided that it is proven by approved medical reports without regard to the age requirement, noting that the Commission receives Requests for exemption from citizens "electronically" or through a visit to the headquarters of the Commission, to be then study the applications submitted and the study of financial solvency through electronic link with the concerned authorities.

The source confirmed the eligibility of each retired citizen whose pension is less than AED 20,000, to apply for an exemption.The Authority, in turn, will examine the application in all aspects, to determine the extent of eligibility for the exemption, and anyone who deserves will receive exemption from the value of the remainder of the loan in full.
