On the 29th in Vladivostok, more than 10,000 citizens paradoxed in a parade to appeal for the protection of the endangered Amur tiger inhabiting the Russian Far East.

This parade is held every year by the Russian Far East local governments and environmental protection groups, and the last Sunday of September is called “Tiger Day.” The 20th event is a citizen who dressed as a tiger with clothes and makeup. More than 12,000 people participated.

The Amur tiger is a tiger that lives mainly in the forests of the Russian Far East and is a symbol of Vladivostok, but it has been designated as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Participants in the parade marched on the boulevard of Vladivostok and sought to protect the Amur tiger with a placard and banner.

A 17-year-old woman who participated said, “The Amur tiger is a symbol of the region and is proud. I think it is important not to destroy the nature where the tiger lives.”

According to the WWF = World Wildlife Fund of the environmental protection organization, the number of Amur tigers is currently estimated to be about 580, and there is an increasing trend due to stricter penalties for poaching and the establishment of protected areas. It means that the influence of the weather is concerned.
