The incident occurred on a ship flying the flag of the Cayman Islands, carrying petroleum products. Onboard there were 25 crew members.
Also, the fire spread to a neighboring cargo ship, on which there were 21 people. It is noted that all crew members of the second vessel were evacuated.
According to local authorities, nine people were injured, including one who was seriously injured. The citizenship of the victims is not specified.
Earlier, a Russian trawler caught fire in the port of the Norwegian city of Tromso. The entire crew of 29 people was taken ashore.
