"What else has to happen for the authorities to take responsibility for the situation?" Alarm Phone raises the alarm for a boat in distress via social network with 56 people on board. It is a boat "started from Libya days ago", warned a first tweet late yesterday evening: "We have informed the authorities in Libya, Italy and Malta, but nobody has launched a rescue". As the hours passed the situation, as expected, worsened: "the castaways fear to die and ask for help. The people on board say they are embarking on water".

Around 1pm the last desperate sos from the boat: "they talk about human rights, but where are they? Please help us!" Alarm Phone ensures that it has informed Eunavfor Med (Operation Sophia), Coast Guard, French Coast Guard, Maltese Armed Forces and "the so-called Libyan Coast Guard".
