Emirati citizen Salem Al Qaidi has launched an initiative to plant dozens of Ghaf trees in the Maliha area of ​​Sharjah, coinciding with the rise of the first Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri to space, in addition to a workshop by distributing Ghaf seeds to children and planting them.


Salim Al Qaidi told Emirates Today that he has launched several initiatives to encourage Ghaf tree planting. .


He continued that he has made many initiatives, including what was coinciding with national holidays, including personal initiatives by giving his friends and acquaintances multiple types of trees, especially Ghaf.


He pointed out that he chose to be the name of the initiative tree Hazza Mansouri, to instill in the hearts of children the importance of Ghaf tree as an important symbol of the Emiratis and their country, and to introduce participants in the workshop Ghaf planting the reason for choosing Hazza Mansouri carried 30 seeds of Ghaf tree with him to space.


He added that the Ghaf tree has a special place among the people of the UAE, so Hazza Al Mansouri chose him to be among the needs he took with him to the space. The Ghaf tree has been immortal for many years despite the environmental changes witnessed by the state every year.


He pointed out that all the participants in the workshop and the initiative of Hazza Al-Mansouri were honored by giving them seedlings to Ghaf tree, and a commemorative certificate for their participation in the initiative, so that the rise of the first Emirati astronaut in memory of their minds in the future.
