This, according to TASS, said the first deputy head of the United Russia faction Andrei Isaev after a meeting of the commission.

As the deputy recalled, in the first reading a bill had already been passed, which establishes fines for disseminating false facts on social networks.

“It is necessary to introduce an amendment that would establish a similar punishment for violations of the electoral laws of Russia ... by the owners of the sites. Everyone who falls under the option in the first reading, ”he stressed.

According to him, the new rules, if adopted, will concern owners of both Russian and foreign resources.

Earlier, the commission of the lower house of parliament to investigate interference in Russian affairs concluded that the German publication Deutsche Welle violated Russian law by publishing material calling for an unauthorized rally in Moscow.

The commission also intends to ask the Foreign Ministry to consider withdrawing the accreditation of Deutsche Welle in Russia due to a violation of Russian law.
