Lavrov discussed with the Foreign Minister of Ecuador the situation in Venezuela

This is stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that the parties discussed the prospects for further development of the bilateral dialogue and enhancing cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

“We examined issues of Russian-Ecuadorian interaction at the UN. Of the regional topics, special attention was paid to the situation in and around Venezuela, ”the Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the political crisis in Venezuela should be resolved only through direct dialogue between the government and the opposition.
