  • Institute: Two minors arrested for assaulting a girl

The juvenile judge has agreed on Friday the detention in a juvenile center of the two 14-year-old girls who allegedly beat another minor of the same age on Monday after leaving the Francisco de Quevedo Institute in San Blas, in Madrid.

The magistrate has adopted this measure at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, which has requested the precautionary measure of semi-open internment with removal and prohibition to approach the victim or to communicate with her, as reported by tax sources.

According to this precautionary measure, minors will be admitted to a juvenile center without being able to go to sleep at their homes , although they may leave the center in custody provided they receive the relevant authorization.

The minors were arrested last Monday after the video of the aggression was known. Another minor was also identified by the National Police because of its relationship with its dissemination.

The two minors admitted.

The events took place on the 23rd at the gates of the mentioned institute, located on San Román de Valle street, in the San Blas district. A girl was leaving the center when she was notified by two companions that they were waiting outside to assault her. She tried to escape through the back door, but once outside she was surrounded by a dozen students in a threatening attitude, making a circle to prevent her from running away , a spokesman for the Higher Police Headquarters in Madrid confirmed to Europa Press.

Then, two girls entered the circle and began slandering the victim. They beat her several times, putting one on top of her, slapping her face, hitting her with her fists on her head and breaking her nose, leaving her semi-unconscious. The scene was recorded by some boys surrounding the fight with their mobile phones, images that were later disseminated through messages and networks.

Assisted by several partners

The minor was helped by several companions, who called the heads of the institute, who communicated with the parents of the victim. She was transferred to a nearby medical center, and from there referred to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid, where she was assisted and where she will be operated for a broken nose.

The girl's family has reported the facts and presented the video to the National Police. For its part, the Community of Madrid has activated the protocol against bullying and the institute has opened an investigation.

According to regional sources, the victim is now studying at Francisco de Quevedo center but last year at a nearby center, where he had coincided with his assailants. Therefore, the other institute is already aware of what happened to determine the disciplinary measures to be taken against the attackers, included in the Coexistence Decree signed as approved last April, which considers the use of the intimidation or violence, aggressions, serious offenses and acts that seriously undermine the right to privacy, honor or self-image or health against classmates or other members of the educational community. "

In addition, School Inspection, in collaboration with the police investigation, will take appropriate measures on the people who threatened the victim, did not help and recorded and disseminated the images of the fight with their mobile. These behaviors, like the previous ones, involve precautionary, corrective and disciplinary measures of different degrees of application, which will be determined by the school authorities.
