“The first thing this law is about is that 42 million hectares of Ukrainian land can be sold in full, including to foreigners,” TASS quoted her as saying.

Tymoshenko clarified that 42 million hectares of land is 72% of the territory of Ukraine.

In early September, it was reported that land reform would provide for the possibility of foreigners acquiring agricultural land “provided that they register a legal entity in Ukraine and pay taxes here.”

Earlier, the Ukrainian government approved the bill. The document will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
