Phil Scott, the Republican governor of Vermont, held a press conference on Thursday and supported the state-of-the-art lawsuit against Donald Trump. He is the first high-ranking Republican politician to openly support the process.

He says he's not surprised by the criticism of Donald Trump - and now hopes that Congress will see the full whistleblower report.

- I think this investigation is important. And how it is driven forward now should be based on the facts that can be developed, he said.

Trump: "Shouldn't be allowed"

At the same time, Donald Trump continues to call everything a witch hunt. After coming home from New York, he spoke to the press directly at the airport.

- The Democrats can't do anything themselves, so they do this. What has hit this president should not be allowed, he says.

"They are knowledgeable"

As before, he blames the Democrats, and most notably Adam Schiff, who chairs the House House Intelligence Committee, for closing the allegations against Joe Biden and his son.

- What the Democrats are doing to this country is a shame and should not be allowed. There should be a way to stop it. Maybe legally through courtrooms, he says.

He continues:

- They are so committed, so knowledgeable, that nothing is done except when I do it myself, he says.
