As of next year, the municipality will close the ticket center. The decision is based on the savings that exist for the Culture and Leisure Committee for 2020, but also on a general development in society where it can be seen that the need for Ticket Center services will decrease over time as more and more people manage their tickets online.

Already, the ticket center stops selling gift cards - and for those who are already on gift cards, it is a good idea to use it, says Jon Malmqvist (KD), chairman of the cultural and leisure committee in Växjö.

- We have not yet set a date for the last redemption of gift cards, but you should not sit with them for too long. I recommend people redeem them before April 2020, says Jon Malmqvist.

Does not break any agreements

The municipality will fulfill the commitments it has taken up to today.

"We have agreements with local organizers to sell tickets for their events, and we do not break such agreements," says Jon Malmqvist.
