Saudi Arabia has confirmed that the Alliance for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen is fully committed to its military operations being compliant with the rules of international humanitarian and human rights law.

The Head of the Humanitarian Affairs Section of the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva, Fahd bin Mohammed bin Monekhir, said in his speech yesterday before the Human Rights Council that the coalition is also committed to conduct the necessary investigation into any incidents involving allegations of violations or irregularities during the Military operations, and prosecute those found guilty of any violations.

Saudi Arabia thanked the High Commissioner for Human Rights for her positive report on Yemen under item 10, stressing the importance of supporting national investigative mechanisms through the intensification of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to support the Yemeni National Commission of Inquiry, which reports on allegations raised regarding violations. . He also stressed Saudi Arabia's support for the efforts of the UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, based on the Gulf Initiative, and the results of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216, pointing out the importance of joining international efforts to support the legitimate Yemeni government and carry the Houthi militias. To obey the will of the international community and hold it responsible for the situation in Yemen.

He stressed the need to implement the Stockholm Agreement accurately, while the militias continue to violate the agreement through more than 6300 breaches, and lack of commitment to the ceasefire in the province of Hodeidah.
