“The current humanitarian situation in Syria, Yemen, North Korea and Venezuela was discussed,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

It is noted that Lowcock praised Russia's contribution to UN efforts to provide international humanitarian assistance.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation with an eye to harnessing Russia's potential in emergency response and humanitarian assistance.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
