French striker Jérémy Ménez, who has been free since leaving Mexico's Club América (Mexico) this summer, has signed for Paris FC (L2) for a season, his new club announced Thursday night.

"Paris FC is happy to announce that Jérémy Ménez joins the club of the capital!" Free after his departure from the Club América, the striker finds the Paris region and engages a season with the Paris FC ", explains the current last of Ligue 2 in a statement.

The 32-year-old native of Longjumeau (Essonne) was free from any contract after playing for Club América (Mexico) since early 2018, scoring 5 goals and 5 assists after a season-long stint in Antalyaspor (Turkey).

"With Jérémy Menez we wanted to strengthen the group which is today a little in difficulty. There is a great story to tell because it comes back to Orly on the former grounds of the CFFP (football training center of Paris, Ed.) ) where he grew up before joining Brétigny and later Sochaux ", welcomed the President of Paris FC, Pierre Ferracci.

"Jérémy is going to help Paris FC and get involved in the club's project, and it will be an attractive element for the club, but it is especially on the sporting side that it will have the means to bring his qualities to the team, to the club. This is a strong image for Paris FC ", added the Parisian president.

Passed by the Paris SG for three seasons (2011-2014), Ménez had won the French Championship two seasons in a row (2013, 2014) before leaving to Milan (Italy) until 2016. He scored 21 goals and 30 assists for 119 games played with PSG.

He then moved to the Girondins de Bordeaux between 2016 and 2017.

Trained at FC Sochaux, Ménez is part of the talented "1987 generation", crowned European champion under 17 in 2004 alongside including Karim Benzema, Samir Nasri and Hatem Ben Arfa.

By signing at Paris FC, in big trouble in L2, the French striker opens a new page of his career marked by ups and downs by returning to the lands of his debut.
