The former French president died on Thursday morning at his home in Paris. He was 86 years old. The Elysee has announced that a national day of mourning will be held Monday, September 30 in tribute to former President Jacques Chirac and a solemn service will be returned the same day at noon in the church of Saint-Sulpice, Paris. The French presidency added that the doors of the Élysée Palace will be opened exceptionally from this Thursday 21h and until Sunday " so that the French who wish it can express their condolences ".
