- After school started, many young people moved in the center and were disruptive in different contexts. They are loud, shout at each other and have been told by staff, says Jonny Onbiner, municipal police in Katrineholm, Flen and Vingåker.

"Behave badly on staff"

Among other things, it has been messy in the swimming pool and in the library.

- They have been supportive and unpleasant. Behave badly on staff and do not leave when they are told. At some point, the police were called to the scene and they had to tell them to leave the scene. It is a little insult to the police too, some who do not listen.

What do you do when they don't listen to you?

- We are very cautious about younger young people. Of course, we have legal means to intervene, but usually we want a good dialogue. Then you can find out who is performing the worst and is a small leader figure and push that person home to the parents, if the person can identify.

The police need help from guardians

- We prefer to talk to the custodians, otherwise the person may be moved away to another place. But we need help from other adults, when children behave badly, it is not primarily the responsibility of the police but the guardian who has the greatest responsibility.

The young people in question are under 15 years of age.

- We have the police act to reject, remove and care for people. Then it can of course be a crime, but if you are to be convicted of a crime you must have reached the age of 15. But it can be a basis for the social service.

It is mainly about lunch time and after school as the young people move in central Katrineholm. Municipal police Jonny Onbiner believes that there are more municipalities that have the same problem.

- Many municipalities have this problem, not just Katrineholm. It usually calms down in the fall when the students arrive and staff know who they are who are behaving badly.
