“During a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, I handed him a copy of the saber that the liberator Simon Bolivar used at the Battle of Carabobo, in gratitude for the support of Venezuela and for respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples,” Maduro wrote on Twitter.

Also, the President of Venezuela posted a video on the social network on which he transmits the saber to Putin.

Maduro called the past working meeting with the President of Russia “positive.”

He noted that the leaders discussed the full range of issues of bilateral cooperation and outlined "new ways to expand the system of interaction and exchange between peoples."

Earlier in the Kremlin, a meeting was held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
