Lavrov recalled the idea of ​​Stalin to place the UN headquarters in Sochi

According to him, it may be necessary to raise the question, "what to do with the UN headquarters."

“By the way, when the creation of the UN was discussed and reached the location of the headquarters, Joseph Stalin suggested that it be located in Sochi. It was insightful, ”Lavrov said in an interview with Kommersant.

As the minister noted, at present Sochi “would have done exactly without any roughness”.

Earlier it became known that the United States did not issue visas to members of the Russian delegation at the UN General Assembly, as well as to guests of the CTBT conference.

In this regard, the Federation Council and the State Duma proposed to consider the possible transfer of UN headquarters from the United States.

Later, Lavrov also urged to think about moving international events from the United States.
