As the 2020 US presidential campaign looms, the United States has not finished with foreign interference. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Facebook announced the removal of pro-Trump pages animated from Ukraine.

This gives an air of déjà-vu that confirms the warnings of former special prosecutor Robert Mueller. Heard in July , the author of the investigation into the Russian case indeed warned Congress that foreign interference was continuing right now in the American political life, as the next presidential election of 2020 approaches.

This time, the fake pro-Trump pages did not come from Russia, but from Ukraine. As during the 2016 campaign , they made the patriotic fiber vibrate. The main ones were called "I love America" or "God bless Donald Trump". They invited to honor the stars and to hate the Democratic Party.

According to Facebook, these pages have been viewed by millions of users. They had 1.1 million subscribers and more than 9 million interactions. This Tuesday, the social network has announced their removal for " violation of the rules on spam and false accounts ."

This suppression follows the report on Monday by the activist newsletter Popular Information . These pages used the same content as used in 2016 by the Russian intelligence agency Internet Reseach Agency. But for now, Facebook does not make any connection between this pro-Trump disinformation campaign and a foreign government.
