The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, believes that in the elections of November 10 there will be a transfer of votes from Podemos and, above all, from Citizens, to the PSOE that will more than compensate for the loss of support that could suffer from the irruption in the Spanish politics of the new party of Íñigo Errejón. He also believes that this new formation, which plans to be presented in 13 provinces, is a more serious problem for United We can than for the PSOE.

Sanchez thinks that, even if abstention goes up, PSOE voters will not stay home that day, although traditionally abstention tends to affect the left more than the right. In fact, the president has implicitly chosen a helpful vote favoring the Socialists to emphasize that people will go with more information to the polls in November and therefore "will not be such an ideological vote".

This was stated last night (early today in Spain) the head of the Government in an informal conversation with the press at the residence of the ambassador of Spain at the United Nations, Agustin Santos Maraver. Sanchez admitted that "we have to fight the game," but he also insisted that "we go strong."

From the statements it is clear that the President of the Government believes that the arrival of Errejón in politics as an independent force is a blow to the PSOE, but much greater for Podemos. The chief executive recalled that Errejón is one of the founders of Podemos, and has used the word "atomization" and "fragmentation" to refer to the party led by Pablo Iglesias .

But he has also declared that "I do not see" the rise in votes of the PP , and has questioned that the votes he could lose - according to almost all the polls - Citizens are going to address the party led by Pablo Casado. Thus, the PSOE would win votes from the left and the right .

Of course, Sanchez himself has clarified that everything depends on what happens in October, a month that he described as "politically decisive" due to a number of factors, including the ruling of the Supreme of secession leaders in Catalonia, Brexit, and, also, the final decision on the tomb of Francisco Franco. Precisely today the Supreme Court must decide on the removal of the mortal remains of Franco from the Valley of the Fallen.

Last night, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell had dinner with the EU ambassador and the future president of the European Council, Charles Michel, with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. The Kushners are by far the most influential people in Trump. In November, Borrell assumes the direction of European diplomacy.
