It was in February 2018 that a timber car got stuck in a plane crossing in Hökmora and was hit by a freight train. The car was severely damaged, but no one was in the car at the time of the collision. The locomotive driver in the freight train had to throw himself out of the locomotive, but was injured and had to be taken to hospital.

A little over a year later, the Swedish Transport Administration submitted a proposal on what they intend to take for measures in the future to avoid accidents. The Accident Investigation Board subsequently rejected the proposal.

The Swedish Transport Administration has now supplemented its proposals, and there you increase the winter maintenance of the roads in the area, increase the use of obstacle detectors and you should also review a replacement of the booms at the accident junction.
