“Due to these low-cost airlines, by 2025 we plan to attract up to 6 million (additional) tourists a year to St. Petersburg,” he told RBC.

Sergeyev explained that these are the airlines that were the first to react before the official announcement of the initiatives to introduce the "open skies" system in Pulkovo; in practice, real demand is expected to increase.

According to him, negotiations with the Ministry of Transport are ongoing, the company has already sent a network of routes to 33 countries to the department.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov supported the initiative on the regime of "open skies" in Pulkovo. This will allow passengers and goods to be transported between the two countries without landing in the carrier's country of registration.
