“The reduction cycle will lead to more vigorous work and higher salaries for those civil servants who, as a result of certification or some other objective measures, will retain their place,” he concluded.

Earlier, the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Tatyana Nesterenko said that from 2020 the Russian authorities will begin to implement reforms in public administration, which will lead to a large-scale reduction in the number of civil servants over the course of several years and an increase in salaries for the remaining ones.

In mid-September, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov announced that a reduction in the number of officials is expected next year.
