“Saving is not an end in itself, obviously. But the funds released at the same time will be used to increase the remuneration of civil servants, ”RIA Novosti quoted Tatyana Nesterenko, the first deputy minister of finance of Russia.

The deputy minister noted that without a reduction it is impossible to achieve a competitive level of remuneration in the civil service.

“Since 2020, we have been proposing to reduce the number of central offices of federal executive bodies (FOIV) by 10%,” she added.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that in 2020, the authorities will index the salaries of public sector employees.
