Racism in the stadiums "is no longer acceptable," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Monday when he presented the Fifa The Best trophies in Milan.

"I want to say that in Italy, in my country, and yesterday we saw an episode of racism in the Italian league, which is no longer acceptable," said Infantino.

The match Atalanta Bergamo-Fiorentina, counting for the fourth day of Serie A, was interrupted a few minutes Sunday after racist cries having targeted Dalbert, Brazilian side of the club florentin.

The former Nice player complained to the match referee, Mr Orsato, who stopped the game and asked for a message to be broadcast by the stadium announcer. This message was greeted by fed whistles.

"We must say no to racism, in all its forms, in football and in society, but we must also fight it, expel it from football and society once and for all, in Italy and elsewhere." said Infantino Monday.

As early as Sunday, the President of Fifa had very hard words about the situation in the Italian stadiums, saying that it was "serious" and had "not improved".

"Racism is fought through education, condemning it, talking about it, we can not accept racism in society and in football," said Infantino, guest on the channel Rai2.

Since the beginning of the season, the Belgian of Inter Milan Romelu Lukaku and the Ivorian of AC Milan Franck Kessié have already been targeted by cries of monkey, without any sanction was taken.

Last season, it was Blaise Matuidi, Kalidou Koulibaly and Moïse Kean who had been victims of this phenomenon, recurring for years in Italy.
