Iraqi President Barham Saleh, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan's King Abdullah II held a three-way summit in New York on Sunday on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, during which they stressed the need to consolidate peace and dialogue in the region and keep the specter of war away from it.

At their meeting, which comes as a complement to the tripartite summit on March 24, 2019, the three leaders reaffirmed their support for a comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian issue and the importance of the Palestinian people obtaining all their legitimate rights, including the right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

They noted the need for the international community to act to stop the construction and expansion of illegal settlements and all steps aimed at changing the historical and legal situation in Jerusalem, and to reject and condemn the annexation of any parts of the occupied Palestinian territories as a necessary condition for restoring stability in the region.

They stressed the need to completely eliminate all terrorist organizations wherever they exist, and to confront all those who support them politically, financially or media, and reiterate their full support for Iraqi efforts to complete the restoration of Iraqi efforts to complete the reconstruction and return of displaced persons to the liberated areas of the Islamic State.

The leaders also stressed the importance of a comprehensive political solution to the crises in the region, especially those in Syria, Libya and Yemen, in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions, in order to preserve the unity and independence of these countries, their territorial integrity and the capabilities of their people, and to preserve national security.

They expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of attacks on its oil facilities, stressing the importance of maintaining the security of the Arabian Gulf region and ensuring freedom of navigation in it, as a key component of Arab national security, stressing the importance of calm and avoid further tension and escalation because of the impact Negative on stability in the region.

The three leaders also discussed ways of enhancing political, economic and strategic cooperation and coordination, while continuing to give priority to cooperation in the areas of investment, trade, housing and infrastructure, and joint action to enhance Arab national security and face the challenges facing the region.
