According to RIA Novosti, the vice-governor of the Moscow region Dmitry Pestov said that almost all social facilities near Moscow are already heated.

“As of September 23, 2019, more than 90% of the social facilities operating in the region, including healthcare facilities, schools, kindergartens, have already been supplied with heat,” said Pestov, quoted by the press service.

He specified that the supply of heat to apartment buildings also began. By 13:00 on September 23, heating was turned on in approximately 30% of residential buildings.

Along with this, TASS, with reference to the deputy mayor of Moscow, Pyotr Biryukov, writes that heat was also supplied to apartment buildings in the capital.

“In connection with the decrease in the average daily temperature ... and in accordance with the current regulations, the city is now starting to turn on heat with the heating turned on in medical and educational institutions, residential buildings, sports infrastructure, administrative and industrial buildings,” he said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations talked about Russia's readiness for the heating season.

On September 20, PolitExpert reported that the heating season in St. Petersburg would begin on September 24.
