How the new law will be implemented is still not fixed at one hundred percent. But it will not be illegal to post pictures of their children online.

- It is stated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child that parents and the state should always look out for the best interests of the child. says Lisa Skiöld, children's ombudsman in the association Children's Ombudsman in Uppsala County.

Mom in Kenya was felled

There is a case where a mother in Kenya was convicted of having published images online.

- It became a convict after the mother shared pictures of her children on Facebook where they leaned against the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is possible that it can be interpreted that way in the future but there is nothing we know today, says Lisa Skiöld.

"Uploading pictures for our own sake"

Journalist, body activist and author Karin "Kajjan" Andersson from Uppsala is one of many parents who publish pictures of their children in social media.

- I always ask my children if I can take cards and put them out. When it comes to sharenting it is about uploading pictures for our own sake. These are our platforms where we want to showcase our lives, and then our children's lives. There we have to balance what is for me and what is for my children, ”says Karin“ Kajjan ”Andersson.
