The European stock exchanges follow the negative sign that marked the Asian stock exchanges during the night. Milan -0.64%, Frankfurt -0.49%, Paris -0.31%, while London is just above par.
Utilities (+ 0.60%) are up among sectors in Piazza Affari, while oil & gas stocks are down (1.63%).
The best titles: Enel, Campari and Ferrari, after the double in the Singapore GP. Foul instead for Juventus: -5.68%. After a semi-annual report closed with a loss close to 40 million euros, there was the approval of a capital increase of 300 million euros by the board of directors.
The spread between Btp and Bund meanwhile widens: it is 143 basis points, 11 more than last Monday. The yield of the Italian BTP is at 0.90 per cent.
Tensions in the Middle East, with the announcement of the sending of new US troops to the Gulf, are raising the price of oil. Brent, the crude oil of the North Sea, has returned to 65 dollars a barrel.
The markets are falling because there are conflicting reports on the talks between the United States and China. On Friday, the Trump administration canceled duties on 400 Chinese products, but a visit by a delegation of Chinese farmers to the United States was also canceled.
