He was ahead of Spaniard Jorge Navarro (SpeedUp) who, despite all his efforts, failed to catch up with him in the last lap but still took 2nd place in the provisional classification of the championship.

"We abandoned our strategy, which was to stay behind the leaders, in the third round when I saw that I had managed to dig a small gap," said the South African who crossed the line with 787 / 1000th in advance on Navarro.

"It was a big and difficult race with a lot of wind direction changes, but I'm happy for the championship," said Spaniard Alex Marquez, Marc's younger brother who had just won the MotoGP race.

The Spaniard Augusto Fernandez, winner of the two previous races, could not do better than 22nd after a fall in the first lap which made him lose a lot of time and 2nd place in the championship.
