This Sunday is the fifth day without cars in Paris. Traffic is prohibited on all axes of the capital from 11 am to 6 pm, under penalty of a fine of 135 euros.

REPORTAGE

Initially, only a few axes were banned. Sunday, for the fifth edition of the Day without car in Paris, all the streets of the capital are prohibited access between 11 am and 6 pm. Part of the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes is also concerned. For the recalcitrant, the fine is 135 euros.

Only taxis, VTCs, police vehicles, firefighters and buses will have the right to circulate. Speed limits apply however: 30 km maximum hour and even 20 km hour in the hyper-center of Paris. Will motorists play the game? Nothing is less sure. In previous editions, traffic had only halved. Disappointing results due to a lack of information for users.

"It would be nice to inform people"

This year again, many have not received the message, as this driver interviewed by Europe 1: "I do not even know". For this other driver, the ban extends approximately "from 11 am to 5 pm", and when asked about the axes concerned, he is unable to answer.

The ban is also valid for electric cars and two wheels. Another young woman interviewed by Europe 1, a scooter driver, said she was in favor of the initiative, but had not seen it coming: "I will not drive in these cases, but it would be good to inform people. I was not aware of it and I have a lot of friends who also travel by scooter and they do not know either, "she says.

And for the Parisians who would be back this weekend before 18 hours, it will be necessary to present a proof of residence in case of road check.
