“On September 22, three Russian sailors captured from Cameroon arrived from Germany, freed from pirate captivity ... The sending of Russian sailors to their homeland is scheduled for September 23, 2019,” the website of the diplomatic department says.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the condition of the Russians is assessed as satisfactory, nothing threatens their health.

On August 15, pirates attacked a Marmalaita cargo ship near the port of Douala off the coast of Cameroon and kidnapped eight people - three Russians, a Ukrainian, and four Filipinos.
Later negotiations began with the pirates to determine the amount of the ransom.
On September 9, the Russian embassy in Yaoundé announced that negotiations had passed into the final stage.
