The Civil Guard has arrested 32 people accused of belonging to an organization dedicated to large-scale hashish traffic from North Africa to the coast of Tarifa (Cádiz) and has intervened two tons of this substance, as well as three vessels and five land vehicles .

In a statement, the armed institute explains that the dismantled network in the Casual nomination operation was mainly based in the Tarifeña town, although there have been arrests of people residing in the neighboring town of Algeciras and in Córdoba .

The investigation began in January, when agents suspected the high standard of living of several people based in Tarifa, not according to their income.

They also had some people who also developed legal activities to go unnoticed and not be linked to the world of drug trafficking.

This organization had a first criminal branch specialized in the introduction of the drug through recreational boats through the port of Tarifa and a second branch that used inflatable boats manned by expert divers .

During the first phase of exploitation of the operation, the Civil Guard intercepted two shelters of twenty bundles of hashish by this method.

As a result of these two apprehensions, different searches were carried out on farms and homes in Tarifa where the leaders and members of this branch of the organization resided, who were arrested, and abundant computer and mobile telephone equipment was intervened.

As a result of this intervention, it was possible to determine the existence of a farm located in the area of La Ahumada , which was being used by the organization as a "nursery" for the drug.

During the surveillance of this place, a vehicle that carried eleven bundles of hashish was intercepted and, later, another vehicle also loaded with drugs that was destined for the province of Córdoba, where the people who were going to receive it were identified .

In the last phase of exploitation it was possible to detect how the second branch of the organization was making preparations to introduce a hashish stash by means of the funding method, used only by very specialized organizations and very difficult to detect.

The divers were knowledgeable about the area of the coast of Tarifeño and had professional equipment and diving bottles to make long dives and be able to release the bales previously thrown.

The anchorage areas are geolocated so experienced divers can extract the drug at night.

The Civil Guard vigilance on this branch allowed the crew of the boat that anchored the hashish bales, that of the divers and the other members of the organization that participated in their extraction to be arrested.

In this last intervention the participation of the Special Group of Underwater Activities of the 4th Civil Guard Zone was necessary.
