Behind the initiative in Sweden is Städa Sverige together with Pantamera. Byske FF's players participated as part of getting the cup a long distance away from the resort.

- Then we think it's good if they get to work for it. We try to find suitable information where they can be involved and that is not just about selling things, says Linda Lundin, team leader and continues:

- The dream for the girls is probably Gothia cup in Gothenburg, but we will see how far we come. We are a bit limited in which cups we can participate in as we have a team of mixed ages, but we aim to take a little outside the county.

"Made great use"

The team was up and running early in the morning, clearing debris until 11.30am. Then it ended with lunch and a soccer tournament.

- It has been great, we have made great use. We have picked everything from a large oil barrel and a cot to small items such as pimples and portion snuff, says Linda Lundin.

Arranged for the ninth year in a row

It is the ninth year in a row that Sweden's youths make an effort for the country's beaches. During last year's Strandens dag, the youth in the county collected 15 bags of combustible garbage, 7.5 bags of non-combustible waste, 2.5 bags of PET bottles and jars and 1.5 bags of environmentally hazardous waste.

Elsewhere in the county, young people from the KFUM Comets, Umeå IK and Vilhelmina Judo Club also clean up during Strandens dag. In addition, Keep Sweden Clean arranges clean events around the country and among other things, garbage is picked in Umeå and Skellefteå.
