“Who has the right to, let’s say, define the media as propaganda if this media officially and completely freely operates in the territory of this state, having the right to do this, while being in the legal field of this state? No one, ”RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to Buyakevich, the issue of the status of Russian media in France is "one of the priorities in communicating with our French friends."

He also specified that French journalists enjoy freedom of professional activity in Russia. They are allowed to participate in any event along the lines of the presidential administration, the Foreign Ministry, the State Duma and the Federation Council.

Buyakevich emphasized that the French media in Russia "no one is demonizing."

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that depriving RT France and Sputnik correspondents of accreditation in the Champs Elysees "is against all norms of civilized behavior."

In July, the British Foreign Ministry refused to grant RT accreditation to a conference on media freedom, explaining this by the “active participation” of RT and Sputnik in disseminating misinformation.
