21 September 2019Annunciate protests against the pension reform, while thousands of people will crowd in front of sites and monuments for Heritage Day. Meanwhile, in the most risky streets, first of all the Champs-Elysees, the armored vehicles of the gendarmerie and the vans returned. The appeals of the yellow vests on social networks have multiplied, under the motto of "all France in Paris". And some "antagonist" activists are calling for the convergence of the climate and social justice marches

First assessment of today's protests in Paris
The prefecture has announced that it has stopped 30 people so far, 596 checks have been carried out and 4 people have been fined. Several groups of people are participating in unauthorized demonstrations in the Saint-Lazare district and the Champs-Elysees. The capital is armored for the three contemporary demonstrations announced for today, for the climate, against the pension reform and a new appointment for the yellow vests, in conjunction with the Heritage Day.

Tear gas at Saint-Lazare station
A large group of yellow vests gathered in the square of the Saint-Lazare station in an unauthorized demonstration; the police responded by firing tear gas to disperse them. Another unauthorized gathering at the Place de la Madeleine, from where - reports Le Parisien - the protesters withdrew shouting slogans against the French president, Emmanuel Macron.

The three events
The capital is armored with 7,500 agents deployed to respond to the three different national events planned: for the climate, against the pension reform and a new march of yellow vests. All this in conjunction with Heritage Day, a cultural initiative to open historic buildings, including the Elysium. Several metro lines have been blocked, as well as some institutional and tourist sites.
