“Having no other opportunity to respond to violations by this organization of its own principles and faced with frank disregard for interests, Ukraine will refrain from sending its delegation to the next session,” he wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the authorities are planning to hold consultations with other CE member states in order to develop a plan to restore confidence in PACE.

In August, Yaremenko stated that the task of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is to promote the interests of Ukraine, and not to expel Russia from the organization.

On June 26, PACE adopted a resolution confirming the full powers of Russia.

As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, the resolution of the assembly on the return of the powers of the Russian delegation indicates that Europe recognized the role of Moscow in solving modern problems.
