On the eve of the summit on climate that will bring together heads of state to the United Nations, more than 600 young people are expected to discuss, exchange and challenge previous generations.

Initiated by Sweden's Greta Thunberg , Friday's pacifist parade will have marked the spirits. It is a nice move from these young people to have walked and to have positioned themselves on the international stage. Schoolchildren, college students, high school students or students have warned: they are determined and will not stop until laws are more effective against climate change.

Friday, they were around 300,000 to parade in New York, blocking part of the Wall Street business district. What give much more echo the summit of youth on the climate that opens this Saturday morning. It's a safe bet that the adults who will meet them will not look at them the same way, and will certainly take them more seriously.

Workshops and meetings

What is highly anticipated this Saturday morning is a possible handshake between Greta Thunberg and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. This has made climate one of the main goals of the United Nations, and said a few days ago that we were losing against climate change. On a more personal note, he even confided that he refused to take responsibility for leaving the planet in this state to his three grandchildren. It is also he who pushed this summit on the sidelines of the annual meeting of heads of state around the world.

Apart from this symbol, of course we expect the concrete ideas that will be exchanged during workshops. We will talk about technological solutions, natural finds. And most importantly, young people from different countries will be able to get in touch, which could well make things happen, this generation being able to work from a distance. Finally, they must meet some heads of state and put them in front of their responsibilities.
