The doctor: "A challenge when there are many patients in the emergency"

The patients who come to the emergency room at Mälar Hospital are divided into three groups - green, orange or red - based on severity. The reds should be assessed immediately by doctors and the oranges should wait no more than half an hour.

- This can sometimes be a challenge when there are many patients at the emergency room, says doctor Christer Magnusson.

He says that the doctors at the emergency room are sometimes difficult to catch up because the pressure on the emergency room has increased, especially in the last two years.

Starting in the fall, all ST physicians serving in the emergency department should always be supervised by specialist trained emergency physicians, according to Christer Magnusson.
