The first UAE astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri will be separated from his trip to the International Space Station, which will start on September 25, while the Assistant Director General for Scientific and Technical Affairs at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center, Director of the Emirates Astronaut Program, Salem Al Marri, revealed that Over the next two decades, the UAE aims to reach the moon and explore Mars and meteorites.
The main crew of the mission to the International Space Station include the UAE astronaut Hazza Al-Mansouri, Oleg Skriposchka and Jessica Mir, while the alternative crew includes UAE astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi, astronauts Sergey Rizikov and Thomas Marshburn.
The crew is currently in the midst of a pre-flight period of eight days at the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome space base in Kazakhstan, with the return on October 4 aboard the Soyuz MS. 12 ”.
Al-Marri said in a press statement that he will be entrusted with Mansouri several tasks within the station, and conduct 16 scientific experiments selected from the competition «Science in Space», which participated students of the schools of the UAE. It will also study the impact of microgravity compared to Earth's gravity in the human body, as well as the extent of interaction of its vital indicators within the station, and compared with the Earth before and after the flight; in the first study of an Arab, and compared with the results of astronauts from other nationalities.
He added that «for the first time, Al-Mansouri will accompany the Arab public in an introductory tour, during which he will explain the sections and components of the international station in Arabic», thus becoming a scientific reference documented in Arabic.
He described the astronaut's schedule, while aboard the station, that it will be a raft of scientific activities, and every hour of the day has tasks to do, and will conduct astronaut research in several areas, for example, will study the interaction of human body biomarkers inside the station , Compared to the ground before and after the flight.
He pointed out that, for the first time, this type of research will be conducted on a person from our Arab region, the UAE astronaut, where the results will be compared with research conducted on astronauts from different regions of the world.
