Klinsky city court extended house arrest to the operative officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow Region Gleb Bogdanov. The policeman will remain in custody until November 22 with the right to a daily walk.
Bogdanov is accused of abuse of office, resulting in moderate health damage, during the detention of a resident of Klin Sergey Rodionov and a search in his apartment in December 2018. Rodionov, an entrepreneur previously convicted of killing a policeman, is currently in a pre-trial detention center and is charged with organizing a theft on an especially large scale. Rodionov claims that when he was detained several operatives, including Bogdanov, more than three hours "were beaten in the kitchen in their own apartment, in the presence of the whole family." However, according to the operatives who were present at the detention, the suspect himself provoked the use of force - Rodionov was drunk, resisted, and threatened police and their families with physical violence.
“They simply twisted him, put him face on the floor and handcuffed him - because he was breaking out, trying to jump out of the window (fifth floor. - RT ), grab the knife, then the fork from the table, banging his head on the furniture,” says one of Solnechnogorsky’s operatives OMVD.
According to him, before the arrest, Rodionov received a call asking him to voluntarily appear at the OMVD and give an explanation about the theft. “But he shouted into the phone that he would kill us all, and our children too,” recalls the interlocutor of RT.
Bogdanov became the first defendant in the case of the beating of Rodionov. From the moment of the initiation in February of this year to the last days, the case was conducted against unidentified persons, albeit a limited circle - the employees of the Solnechnogorsk OMVD and the soldiers of the "Grom" detachment who carried out the detention of Rodionov.
Police attorney Andrei Gromov considers the measure chosen and its extension redundant:
“All those seven months that the investigation was conducted, Bogdanov knew about the criminal case. Being an active police officer, he could not hide or put pressure on the victim - he is in jail. Destroy or hide material evidence too. They are not in business. There are only testimonies of the victim, witnesses and the results of examinations. ”
Gromov petitioned to change the preventive measure on his own recognizance, but the chairman of the court, Denis Sharapov, who held the meeting, refused.
The decision almost completely repeated the request of investigator Ivan Samoilenko: “Bogdanov is accused of committing a serious crime against the foundations of statehood and the constitutional system.”
The lawyer of the operative cites in his application the professional achievements of Bogdanov: awards, including personally from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev, positive characteristics. “Over the 20 years of service, he repeatedly served as the head of the search, served in him for many years, the leadership speaks highly of him,” the lawyer Gromov assured the judge.
Bogdanov is married, he has three children: two and a half, six and ten years.
“My client cannot fully work, financially provide for his family,” the lawyer argued.
Victim Rodionov, in turn, believes that Bogdanov should be sent to jail. The defense of the entrepreneur has already tried in court to achieve such a preventive measure, but to no avail: the Moscow Regional Court dismissed the complaint.
If the policeman is proved guilty, he faces up to ten years in prison.
