US-China Trade Deputy Secretary Level Discussion on Trade Issues Begins September 20 5:44

Washington-level talks on trade issues between the United States and China began in Washington. While President Trump also mentions a tentative agreement limited to some areas that prioritized China's import expansion of American agricultural products, it will be noted how far the US and China can bridge the gap .

The United States and China, which continue to pay high tariffs on each other's imports, are planning to hold a ministerial-level negotiation in Washington early next month.

Prior to this, the deputy-level negotiations between the two countries began on 19th in Washington, and a delegation headed by the Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Ministry of Finance discussed with Deputy Deputy President Gerish of the US Trade Representative.

Next year, President Trump, who will refrain from the presidential election, suggests the possibility of considering a tentative agreement that prioritizes Chinese import expansion of American agricultural products.

China, on the other hand, has made a concessionary stance, such as showing a policy to remove a certain amount of agricultural products imported from the United States from the target of customs duties.

However, in the US parliament and the business community, there is a strong desire for a comprehensive agreement over China's infringement of intellectual property rights, and attention is paid to how far the gap between the two countries can be filled through negotiations.
