Former US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly "deceived" President Donald Trump by providing him with "false information."

In a discussion with Harvard students, Tillerson was quoted in the prestigious University Journal on Thursday, presenting a picture of Trump showing the president somewhat naive to Netanyahu, whom Tillerson called "very talented" despite being "somewhat Machiavellian."

The former foreign minister that the Israeli government does not hesitate to flood Washington with "false information" to achieve what it wants.

"The Israelis have done this with the president several times to convince him that we are kind, they are the bad guys," Tillerson said. "Every time we say to the president, they have deceived you."

"It annoys me that an ally so close to us and important for us to behave this way," Tillerson said.

The former secretary of state once again expressed disappointment at being removed from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which Trump handed over to his son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.

This is not the first time that Tillerson has criticized President Trump, who had rudely dismissed him in 2018.

Since his expulsion from the government, Tillerson has stepped up remarks that give Trump an image of the "uncontrolled, illiterate" person who always tends to "break the law" to achieve what he wants.

On the other hand, Trump continued his attack on Tillerson even after he was expelled from the State Department, criticizing him, calling him "foolish and not smart enough to take over the State Department," according to a tweet.

He went so far as to tell Tillerson that he "does not have the necessary mental abilities, and I had to keep him before that."
