The Planning and Building Board has decided not to reconsider the detailed plan for an Islamic center in Stenhagen in Uppsala. With the approval of the detailed plan, there is virtually no opportunity to prevent the construction.
The building permit is being reimbursed due to new information about the height of the building, but it is a formality and should not affect the road now opened for the plans.
It is the Dawa Foundation that owns the land, and who applied to build an association site on the site. Several parties have wanted to stop the building. But by law, the municipality cannot try the activity itself, and opponents of the Islamic Center have instead tried to stop it by changing the detailed plan.
