The psychiatric hospital Rouvray in Rouen is again affected by an indefinite strike, said Thursday the management of the establishment where eight employees had followed a hunger strike in 2018.

"The protocol signed last year with the ARS" (Regional Health Agency), which ended in June 2018 to 19 days of strike, "is not respected in any way," said Jean-Yves Herment, secretary CFDT union, former hunger striker.

The unionist had no figures for taking part in the strike immediately. According to management, the percentage of strikers was 4.80% (46 out of 1,021 planned agents) at 16:00.

According to Mr. Herment, a general meeting on Thursday gathered "a good hundred people" and the principle of an action Tuesday morning to invade premises of management has been recorded.

For the trade unionist, the agreement of June 2018 is not respected "on the organization of the daily manpower in the different units. On the number of recruitments. It was supposed to be 30 and it misses 14 to date". "Some recruitments have not been used to strengthen the units of hospitalization but to fill retirements or sick leave," he adds.

The protocol that AFP had a copy provided for the recruitment of "30 full-time equivalents".

On the teenagers unit, mentioned in the protocol, "nothing has been done," the trade unionist continues. "There have been touching by patients on minors in recent months in Rouvray because of the lack of adolescent unity," he says.

"The treatment of adolescents in a full-time transient hospitalization unit is defined as a top priority," it was written in the protocol.

"In response to today's strike," the management said in a statement that it has "shown that it has" assigned 20 additional positions in hospitalization units to bring the workforce of adult poles to 439 positions.
