The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Takizaki Asia-Pacific Director General will hold discussions with Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director Kim Jong-han, Asia-Pacific Bureau, on the 20th.

This is the first time that Director Takizaki, who took office on the 9th of this month, will be in official talks with the Korean side.

During the talks, the Japanese side will again ask that South Korea promptly correct the violation of international law on the issue of “recruitment” during the Pacific War.

It is also expected that discussions will be held regarding the military information comprehensive protection agreement = “GSOMIA” with Japan, which Korea decided to abandon, and Japan ’s export control, which the Korean side is repelling.

In addition, in line with the United Nations General Assembly in New York, it is expected that adjustments will be made to realize the Japan-Korea Foreign Ministers Meeting.
