Venezuelan opposition deputy Edgar Zambrano, first vice president of the National Assembly (AN), was released on Tuesday after being held since last May, the court said he is accused of crimes against the state.

According to a statement from the court, Zambrano was granted "a substitute precautionary measure" that implies his periodic presentation to the court every 30 days and he was banned from leaving Venezuela.

The note adds that the release was made effective following the request in this regard presented Tuesday by the Truth Commission, an instance created by the Government of Nicolás Maduro and endorsed by the official National Constituent Assembly.

The court of the case - which has jurisdiction in cases related to crimes associated with terrorism - confirmed that "he ordered the immediate release of Deputy Edgar José Zambrano Ramírez, who is prosecuted for the alleged flagrant commission of crimes that threaten the Venezuelan state. "

According to the statement, later shared by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, on his Twitter account, the Commission for the Truth, Justice and Peace of Venezuela "agreed to call on the Judicial System today to grant measures precautionary custodial substitutes in favor of Zambrano.

It also warns that "a process of review of each of the causes before the institution" is initiated and that it involves those that the opposition and human rights defenders consider "political prisoners".

Zambrano, along with nine other deputies of the opposition National Assembly, has been accused of participating in the failed military uprising of April 30 led by the head of Parliament, Juan Guaidó, recognized as interim president of Venezuela by more than 50 nations.

Since last May, Zambrano has remained in the custody of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin).

The Government of Nicolás Maduro and a group of minority parties of the Venezuelan opposition presented on Monday a national dialogue table that contemplates the return of Chavism to the National Assembly (AN, Parliament), the renewal of electoral authorities and the release of "prisoners politicians".

Venezuela is going through a high political tension since last January, when Maduro swore another 6-year period that the opposition and part of the international community do not recognize because the main opposition leaders were prevented from participating in those elections.
